Official Minutes of the Called Council Meeting – November 7, 2012

Approved by City Council November 15, 2012

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tipton. Councilmembers Baxter, Crosby, Griffin, Kerby, Myrick, Attorney Dickey, City Administrator Akridge, and Asst. City Clerk Diane Proudfoot were present.

Mayor Tipton reported that he had attended a Mayor’s meeting Monday and stated that he has a better understanding of the Three Tier option of the distribution of the L.O.S.T. revenue and felt it would not be in the best interest of the City to take the absentee stand but to consider the tier option.  After continued discussion Councilman Myrick made a motion to accept the Three Tier distribution of L.O.S.T. revenue as presented by Chatham County which is Tier I - 1.65%; Tier II - 0%; Tier III - 1.52%.  Councilman Baxter seconded the motion and it passed with five affirmative votes.

Councilman Baxter made a motion to affirm Attorney Pat O’Connor to represent Bloomingdale along with the other cities in the L.O.S.T. mediation.  Councilman Crosby seconded the motion and it passed with five affirmative votes.

Councilman Crosby requested council to consider authorizing the submission of an application for a “Georgia Council for the Arts” grant which has a submission deadline of Friday.  The grant is a $30,000 grant with a match of $15,000 and would be used toward the relocation and renovation of the old Cochran Store which has been donated to the Museum by the Lynn family.

There being no further business, Councilman Baxter made a motion to adjourn.  Councilman Myrick seconded the motion and it passed with five affirmative votes.

Respectfully submitted,

Diane Proudfoot, Asst. City Clerk
